Waterproof showers with fiberglass
Before installing tiles, waterproof showers with fiberglass by applying fiberglass to the shower surface up to a 10-inch height on the walls and behind shower seats.
Step 1
Install a thin layer of concrete on the floor to create an incline plane towards the drain.
Step 2
Install prefabricated molds on the walls.
Step 3
Install the fiberglass fabric by adhering it to the surface with epoxy.
Step 4
The fiberglass should be glued to the center of the floor surface and at all corners, as well as to the area where the seat will be installed.
Step 5
When the fiberglass is completely dry, apply another layer of concrete on top of the fiberglass sheets. I normally apply 2 inches of concrete and make sure I maintain the slope towards the drain.
After you waterproof showers with fiberglass, you’re ready to install the tile.
