Put these time-saving tips from 3 professional carpenters to work on your jobsite.
Make more cuts at one time
On the jobsite, if you have to travel to use the table saw, try to take more than one measurement with you so you make several cuts at a time.

Use two table saws
If available, use two table saws, one set for straight cuts and one set for bevels.

Save steps
Where possible, keep your body between the saw table and your work area. That way you won’t be walking around the table to make a cut.

Sharpen up
Always use a sharp pencil or marking knife when marking measurements for greatest accuracy.

Make accurate angled cuts on a table saw
Step 1
To make accurate angled cuts on a table saw, rip a piece of wood to be used as a guide. Mark the piece to be cut.
Step 2
Align the ripped edge of the guide piece with the mark on your angle piece, keeping the side you need under the guide.
Screw the pieces together or use double-sided tape if you don’t want to mar the piece.
Step 3
Give the wood a pass through the saw and you have a perfect angle cut.
