Leverage existing programs to increase efficience

Home Depot’s Pro Xtra is a free loyalty program that unlocks a variety of exclusive discounts, business tools and other perks.

As you work to increase efficiency in your business, start by looking for opportunities that already exist – especially at your local suppliers.

There are opportunities to increase efficiency throughout your business – from tools and techniques that make your crew faster and more effective on site to business tools and savings that help you get what you need to and from the jobsite faster. Start by looking at essential activities and partners.

Increase efficiency by joining loyalty programs

You probably deal with the same suppliers for all your jobs and materials, but you may not be taking full advantage of everything they have to offer. One good way to get started is to put yourself on their radar by joining a loyalty program.

At The Home Depot, for example, Pro Xtra is a free loyalty program that unlocks a variety of exclusive discounts, business tools and other perks. One of the primary benefits is purchase tracking. Pro Xtra enables you to track all your Home Depot purchases, sorting by job number or address, and making life much easier during tax season.

Spend less time shopping

No matter how well you’ve prepared, it’s only a matter of time until you have to send someone out for additional or different tools or supplies. Every minute you or one of your employees spends away from the jobsite costs you money, so it pays to make those trips as quick and efficient as possible.

Increase efficiency

With BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick-up In Store) – Use your smartphone or computer to make your purchases. You’ll receive a notification when the order is ready for pickup. Once you get to the store, they’ll load everything into your truck and off you go.

Try these three Home Depot tools to increase your efficiency:

• BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick-up In Store) – Use your smartphone or computer to buy your materials at your local Home Depot store, then keep working while the Pro associates pull your order. You’ll receive a notification when the order is ready for pickup. Once you get to the store, they’ll load everything into your truck and off you go. Don’t waste time sending runners to pull 10 different products off the shelves.
• Text2Confirm – If you do send employees into a Home Depot store to make purchases, they might be using your company credit card. Sometimes that can cause inefficiencies, especially when the associates at The Home Depot have to call you to verify the purchase before they can complete the checkout. With Text2Confirm, you’ll receive a text message asking for authorization. You just reply to that text message with a “1” to confirm, and your employees are out the door.
• Paint will call – You can now call in larger paint orders, and The Home Depot will mix it up and have it waiting for you when you arrive. Your employees don’t have to stand and wait. For certain size orders, Home Depot will even deliver it direct to your jobsite.

Find ways to maximize savings

There are always ways to save money when buying tools and materials – from bulk pricing to smarter delivery to great credit terms. The Home Depot has a variety of ways Pro customers can save money.

For example, members of the free-to-join Pro Xtra loyalty program automatically receive up to 20 percent off paints, stains and primers. Pro Direct and bulk/volume pricing can help you save big when buying large quantities, especially on essential products like light bulbs, door locks and air filters.

Another way to save money is with the new features and benefits for The Home Depot’s Commercial Credit program, which rolled out January 25. They include 60 day no interest financing, 365 days to return, and fuel rewards, where available (10 cents off each gallon for every $100 spent on the card).
