- “Get to know − and I mean really know − your numbers, ” says McDaniel. “In my experience, it’s much easier to look someone in the eye and tell them you really are worth your markup when you know for a certainty what it will take to be profitable.”
- “Study your job costs so that you know what your typical projects cost and how long they typically take,” she says. “Be honest. Learn the actual numbers, not what you wish the numbers were.”
