Waterproof showers with fiberglass

Before installing tiles, waterproof showers with fiberglass by applying fiberglass to the shower surface up to a 10-inch height on the walls and behind shower seats.

Step 1

Install a thin layer of concrete on the floor to create an incline plane towards the drain.

Apply fiberglass to the shower surface up to a 10-inch height on the walls.

 

 

Step 2

 

Install prefabricated molds on the walls.

Install the fiberglass fabric by adhering it to the surface with epoxy.

Install the fiberglass fabric by adhering it to the surface with epoxy.

The fiberglass should be glued to the center of the floor surface and at all corners.

The fiberglass should be glued to the center of the floor surface and at all corners, as well as to the area where the seat will be installed.

Apply another layer of concrete on top of the fiberglass sheets.

Step 5

 

When the fiberglass is completely dry, apply another layer of concrete on top of the fiberglass sheets. I normally apply 2 inches of concrete and make sure I maintain the slope towards the drain.

After you waterproof showers with fiberglass, you’re ready to install the tile.
