Construction Podcast 18: Estimating best practices for remodelers

Remodeler Lucas Papageorge talks with hosts John Gordon and David Dovell about estimating best practices for remodelers and how to provide clients with fast and accurate estimates. He recommends home remodelers and other contractors to make their own templates for services they provide, and points out the importance of knowing your subcontractors’ prices in order to create consistent, accurate estimates and implement these estimating best practices. Another thing contractors should do is tell customers about what can’t be included in the estimate — such as possible asbestos in walls or ceilings – but that can add to the jobs’ costs. He concludes that the most important thing is to keep the final price as close to the remodeling estimate as possible.
